Technician Job Locations AE-Dubai ID 2025-16611 Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Technician for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. Candidates should ideally have gained considerable experience in construction material testing either with a commercial test house or contractor.

 

This position will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

 

Responsibilities Ensuring personal responsibilities are discharged strictly in accordance with the Element - Middle East & Asia-Pacific Laboratory Management System and the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.Carry out routine laboratory tests, analysis, monitoring, sampling or machining in line with authorized technical competence.Maintain Registry and update logs in Excel and word.Use MS office apps to generate reports or worksheets as necessary.Maintain good laboratory housekeeping standards at all times.Report immediately to the Supervisor or Manager any malfunction of equipment used.Maintain accurate and legible records of technical work carried out.Maintain equipment according to schedule as directed by Supervisor or Manager.Promptly act upon clear instructions from direct reporting line.Conclude all necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner.Highlight unreliable or inaccurate data to line managers immediately recognized.Assisting with testing/ analysis of non-routine samples as directed.Ensure that they are aware of all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work required to perform their duties.Identify to management any personal shortfalls in health and safety training where appropriate.Assist with hazard identification and risk assessment exercises within their areas of work.Monitor day-to-day health and safety in their section of work and ensure all hazards, near misses and accidents are reported.

 

Skills / Qualifications Must possess a diploma or degree, preferably in science-related subjectsProficiency in MS Office for reporting and sample logging is requiredAbility to effectively communicate with clients during on-site activitiesAdherence to laboratory quality practices, including the use of calibrated equipment, accurate documentation, and proper test request proceduresExperience in undergoing audits by external accreditation bodies is highly preferredCapable of assigning tasks to assistant technicians for sample preparation and curing activities
