Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is looking for a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Technician – Communication & Data to execute and optimize underground communication systems, ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient communication and data flow for underground operations. This includes supporting the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems to adhere to operational and safety standards. This will be reporting to the Supervisor – Comms & Data.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Assist in improving the awareness of people about underground technologiesInvolvement in the installation of the system communication in the underground to enable the underground operationExecute the plan prepared by the underground communication and technology section in the safest and most efficient to enable the underground operation to do their daily taskEstablish a communication system by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data systems in underground operationsEstablish voice, data system, and network connection by running, pulling terminating, splicing cable, and installing communications equipmentEnsure the network utilization and data system in the underground are reliable and stableMaintain a daily/weekly backup of all networks and systems for disaster recovery

QualificationsDiploma or equivalent in a related field such as Electrical, Information Technology, Electronics, or a similar technical discipline.Minimum 1 years of work-related experienceWilling to be assigned to work in underground.Professional Driver’s licenseNTC Radiotelephone Operator
