As a technical writer at Guidewire, you will use your ability to grasp technical concepts to convert developer-speak into content that speaks to the user. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create clear, accurate, and engaging documentation for our cloud products.
To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and a self-motivated attitude. Expect to work in a fast-changing, flexible environment, where cross-geo collaboration is key.
Job Description
What You’ll DoWork closely with developers, product managers, and user experience designers to understand our products and target audiences
Plan and design targeted information experiences for our business and technical users in short release cycles
Create technical content for our cloud platform, workflows, user interfaces, and APIs
Participate in initiatives to make our content more impactful and relevant to our different audiences
Required skills & experience5+ years of experience creating content for enterprise software applications
Excellent writing and communication skills
Technical aptitude to read and understand code, and document complex solutions
Ability to write code samples to illustrate how a feature works
Knowledge of content development principles, theories, and concepts, including information architecture and information delivery
Understanding of web applications and cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure
Ability to get information from subject matter experts and learn by experimenting
Preferred SkillsGood understanding of structured authoring and markup languages such as DITA and Markdown
Experience working in Git/GitHub
Experience working in an Agile environment
Experience with static site generators such as Docusaurus is a plus
Experience or passion in using AI tools for content development and delivery
