Summary: Seeking a Senior Technical Writer/Editor to create and revise complex technical documentation for defense industry products, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience plus 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in the defense industry required
Proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations
Expertise with state-of-the-art publication software and IETM functionality
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate complex designs into understandable documentation
XML Authoring Tool Experience (e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Oxygen software)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional PDF Software
Knowledge of CMS preferred
Responsibilities:
Create and revise technical documentation including product descriptions, operating procedures, and maintenance guides
Ensure documents comply with customer requirements, government specifications, and engineering standards
Consult with engineering staff to gather information for documentation creation
Analyze engineering drawings to produce accurate technical content
Evaluate illustrations/graphics for effective use in documentation
Provide time and cost estimates for project requirements
Interface with customers on project content and technical issues
Participate in reviews and validation efforts for writing assignments
Lead portions of large technical writing projects
Pay Details: $29.00 to $39.00 per hour
