Job Description
Evergreen is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to support documentation efforts related to encroachment permitting and agency coordination within the City and County of San Francisco. This role will focus on creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly guidance materials, training documents, and process documentation to support internal teams and external agency interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
📄 Documentation Development
• Create and maintain guidance documents, training materials, job aids, and process manuals related to city/county permitting workflows.
• Translate complex permitting procedures and regulatory requirements into accessible content for internal teams.
• Develop visual aids such as flowcharts, process maps, and checklists using tools like Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
🤝 Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), including permit facilitators, land agents, and agency liaisons.
• Attend meetings with city/county agencies to capture updates and translate them into actionable documentation.
• Support cross-functional teams by clarifying permitting dependencies and timelines.
🗂️ Content Management & Quality
• Maintain version control and organize documentation in PG&E’s Document Management Systems (DMS) and SharePoint.
• Perform QA/QC on all written materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with PG&E standards.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with PG&E’s internal guidance formats and regulatory expectations.

Skills and Requirements
• 3–5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in utilities, public works, or permitting.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, filters), and Visio.
• Experience with Document Management Systems (DMS) and SharePoint.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.

• Knowledge of Caltrans, EPW, and land permitting workflows.
• Familiarity with San Francisco city/county permitting processes, including encroachment permits.
• Experience creating documentation for training programs and regulatory compliance.
