Responsibilities + Create and maintain user guides, technical manuals, and product documentation for avionics hardware and systems. + Collaborate directly with Systems Engineers to capture design intent, test procedures, and engineering concepts. + Format and structure documents to meet internal standards and customer requirements. + Draft and revise test procedures, requirements documents, and engineering reports. + Organize and manage documentation for articles, assemblies, and subsystems. + Ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with aerospace documentation standards. Essential Skills + Technical writing and documentation skills. + Proficiency in creating user guides, technical manuals, and product documentation. + Experience with space avionics systems and defense aerospace standards. + Strong writing and editing skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially MS Word, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Acrobat Pro. + Familiarity with document control and technical specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in technical writing, preferably in aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing. + Ability to interpret and translate complex engineering concepts into clear documentation. + Familiarity with requirements management and test documentation. + Experience with tools such as Confluence and SOPs. Work Environment The work environment is a small site with office space, assembly, and lab areas. The office is located in a modest building within a small business park, close to Maxar Technologies. The company is a space avionics and sensor systems organization with a customer base in commercial, space, and defense markets. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
