KBR’s Aviation & Ground Systems Directorate provides Systems Engineering & Integration support to the Army’s Aviation and Ground soldiers with project based and full-time personnel support services. KBR sets the standard with a wide range of services including Government Engineering, Logistics, Business, and International focuses, while ensuring customer satisfaction and providing excellence in contract deliverables.
Job Summary
The applicant will perform as Senior Publications Specialist and possess skillsets to perform experience reviewing, authoring and editing both page-based and electronic military technical manuals. Use a variety of editing software and facilitate tracking progress and issues using spreadsheets and databases. Familiarity with U.S. Army equipment to include Light/Medium/Heavy Tactical Vehicles.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Review Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and paper Technical Manual (TM) Work Packages for accuracyEdit XML and graphic files when necessaryAttend Team meetings internally and with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) as requiredLog comments related to the IETM or TM and submit them to OEM for changesTrack review progress and deficiencies in SharePointBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable technical field or equivalent experience and excellent written communication skills. 5 years technical writing/editing experience.Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Security Clearance to be considered for position.Preferred Qualifications:
Understand XML authoring and editing for Technical Manuals. Have familiarity with Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) viewer for Electronic Interactive Technical Manual (IETM)Have experience using, editing and creating IETM’s and paper Technical Manuals.Have knowledge of the Validation and Verification processes for Army Technical Manual development and fielding.Must be able to travel for meetingsValidation and Verification Proficiency with office software (Teams, Excel, Word, etc.)Familiarity with mechanical drawings and dataBelong, Connect and Grow at KBR
