Responsibilities

The Microarray Laboratory is recognized world-wide as a leader in the microarray field. Our interdisciplinary team has unparalleled expertise in the analysis and interpretation of copy number variants (CNVs).  Our laboratory utilizes several different microarray platforms for the detection of CNVs and offers testing for postnatal, prenatal, products of conception, solid tumor and hematologic malignancy specimens. 

As a Technical Specialist I, working within the Microarray Laboratory, you will work with the Technical Specialist II, Technical Specialist Coordinator, and the laboratory management team to provide direction for the technical operation of the laboratory, including operation maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and assays. Additional responsibilities will include: 

Validating and documenting operational changes using the test life cycle process (TLCP)Providing direction for operational workflow, and serving as an expert resource for the work unit, including laboratory technologistsActively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives

*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to apply to other positions within Mayo Clinic.

**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program. 



Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must meet the following qualifications.

Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science (CLS/MLS), medical technology (MT), chemistry, biological science and two years of relevant laboratory experience, ORBachelor’s degree in addition to a certificate in MLS, and two years of relevant laboratory experience

*HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time Once training is complete, there will be some flexibility to work from home. This hybrid role requires some on site presence, therefore, you will be required to live within reasonable driving distance of Rochester, Minnesota.
