This position belongs to a highly skilled application support and development team within Global Corporate Functions (GCF) that develops and supports various applications in growing Global Regulatory & Controls Technology team. The team is responsible for providing specialized analysis, design, development, and support of cost effective, mission critical, on-line, risk management and decision support systems that power Scotiabank’s Capital Markets businesses.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting and building end-to-end technical solutions to support regulatory reporting of Scotia Capital Markets transactions. From root cause and business requirements analysis, aided by strong data and technical system analysis, to solutioning, development, testing, and release to production, the incumbent will lead and ensure timely resolution of high priority Production Support tickets. The incumbent will work closely with the broader project team, developers, scrum masters, regulatory stakeholders, trading systems, and downstream consumers to ensure high priority support tickets are resolved within SLAs with high quality. The incumbent will also be expected to develop application and business process subject matter expertise over the duration of the assignment.
The successful candidate will have a results-oriented and curious mindset with strong technical skills. You will work closely with cross functional teams, including engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop and implement market leading solutions that are scalable and deliver excellence, and value to our business partners and customers.
In this role you will:
Work within a cross functional Agile team to lead analysis and troubleshooting of technical issues and production support tickets and deliver solutions for the same Change request delivery – requirements gathering, design, implementation, and testing as part of new regulatory initiatives Lead advanced issue triage and ad-hoc data analysis and reporting Work closely with business users and IT teams from multiple key trading systems in Canada, Europe, UK, US, and Asia, in the design and prototyping of business solutions Receive and address ad hoc inquiries from business stakeholders on G20 and MiFID Regulatory Reporting logic (CFTC, SEC, CSA, MAS, ASIC, HKMA, EMIR, UK, etc.), behaviour, and data requests Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-learner on new technologies and maintain an understanding of the business and technology strategies. Have the ability to look at a problem from both a business and technical perspectives Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities. Develop and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required. Work closely across GCF and GBME technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution. Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed. Perform ad hoc project work on various GCF- RCT projects.
