Who will you be working with? 

Reporting to the Customer Service Leader, WA, the purpose of this role is to work alongside Senior Field Service Engineer to assist customer maintenance and engineering staff which could include activities such as implementation of zero emissions battery locomotives. This is the perfect role for someone who is completing their further studies and aspiring to be a Technical specialist.

Where is the position located?

Pilbara Region (WA)- this role is a FIFO position, on a 7 / 7 roster- roster commences and conclude on travel day.

What will your typical day look like?

Collaborate and respond to customer requests for troubleshooting, failure analysis, field modification oversight, issue feedback and engineering support; across operations, maintenance, and engineering.

Complete Wabtec internal training certification within agreed timelines, including international travel.

Assist in the implementation of field modifications and monitor their effectiveness.

Develop an understanding of the customer’s business to identify growth opportunities.

Ensure timely resolution of customer issues and maintain customer satisfaction.

Interact with Wabtec teams regionally on issues, product development, and training.

Monitor fleet performance and communicate trends for parts ordering and inventory management.

Participate in joint investigations of failed components for warranty administration.

Support the smooth transition of Wabtec Locomotives into operations.

Support joint investigation of failed components with the customer for warranty administration.

Respond to troubleshooting requests, failure support, field modification oversight, and engineering support.

Support the reporting of performance criteria and participate in customer monthly meetings.

Track product performance metrics and recommend continuous improvements.

Manage technical fleet performance on-site.

What do we want to know about you?

Trade qualification, engineering certificate or bachelor's degree required.

Experience hands on experience in the rail industry and demonstrated ability to think practically.

Ability to effectively manage several projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Customer mindset.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Interpersonal and leadership skills

Proficient user of Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Analytical skills.

Ability to support and resolve problems with customer focus.
