We are looking for an Technical Space Planner, to join our Occupancy Planning and Management team.

What this job involves:

 

As Technical Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing the facilitation and coordination of occupancy and lab projects, focusing on gathering requirements, including data gathering, equipment needs, and infrastructure considerations, defining project goals in terms of scope and timeline, and ensuring routing/status updates are made.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Provide planning services in support of requested activities – programming, planning analysis, equipment details, furniture and equipment layouts, test fits, block plans and recommendations in a timely mannerProvide MAC services in support of requested activities for client’s North America Field Offices – new hire coordination, workstation furniture related requests, and special projectsCollaborate on lab space requests within assigned areas, aligning with business and real estate goals to maximize space efficiencyDevelop and maintain relationships with client contacts and lab managers to understand space requirements Foster effective working relationships with project management, facilities management, engineering, maintenance, and other team membersRoutinely conduct physical audits of office, labs, and tool bays to confirm active utilization/vacancyEnsure lab space planning activities comply with service line SLAs and client satisfaction targets, including milestone management, status updates, and risk mitigationManage workload, timelines, and project deliverables, conducting regular meetings with internal teams and client stakeholdersMonitor scope and schedule consistency, resolving issues with appropriate team members Accurately gather requirements and set realistic expectations for end usersMaintain data accuracy for space, occupancy, and allocation to update CAFM databasesDocument processes and best practices to maintain PlaybooksLog activities in project tracking tools

Fostering relationships

You'll support critical relationships between various individuals and organizations while ensuring coordination and collaboration among various business units, especially facility management. You will contribute to planning strategies that support projects with guidance from senior team members and assist with regular facility audits using sound decision-making skills. Day-to-day deliverables include monthly reporting, periodic data audits, tracking and managing utilization data and trends, as well as gathering space and adjacency requirements and updating space layouts.

Support various occupancy planning tasks and contribute to effective problem-solving through analytical thinking and decision-making skills. Simplify complex spatial data and assist in project delivery under senior guidance. Adapt to changing client needs, proactively develop solutions, and show enthusiasm for digital tools and occupancy planning processes. Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive space management solutions while enhancing your expertise in strategic occupancy planning methodologies, utilizing critical thinking and technical skills.

 

Communication champion

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, including active listening and the ability to engage effectively across various organizational levels. You possess strong interpersonal skills, can grasp and articulate complex ideas, and interacts confidently with stakeholders, both internal and external. Success in this role requires the ability to understand and communicate intricate concepts to account and client teams while facilitating team coordination. Effectiveness will be demonstrated through asking insightful questions to comprehend and address our clients' underlying needs.

 

Tech-savvy

Possessing strong analytical and data visualization skills is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, xlookup, and complex formulas) and the ability to interpret floor plans are required. Additionally, expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in consolidating data and floor plans into compelling PowerPoint presentations for clients, is highly valued.

Proficiency in interpreting architectural, MEP, furniture, and equipment prints; knowledge of basic MEP standards and building codes

Familiarity with construction industry terminology, documentation, design disciplines, and local permitting processes

Comprehensive understanding of occupancy utilization metrics, contemporary office design principles, and emerging workplace trends such as mobile and collaborative environments

Proven proficiency in utilizing space planning tools and methodologies to optimize workplace efficiency

Professional Experience:

Three to five years of experience in facilities management, lab space planning, and/or corporate real estate environment preferred

Work experience in occupancy or space planning for corporate clients; or interior office planning, furniture planning/management, move/project management, or related

Experience in leading vendors or contracted crews through laboratory moves, additions, or changes

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, construction management, or a related field

 

Estimated compensation for this position:

100,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
