Our client, a globally recognized engine MRO specialist is seeking a Technical Services Lead Engineer with a focus on aircraft engines. Our client is renowned for its comprehensive overhaul, testing, and component repair services for the GE90 series engine. The Technical Services Lead Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development and management of the Technical Services Department. This position involves leading the department in its day-to-day operations, ensuring the effective management of staff, and driving continuous improvement. The Lead Engineer will be instrumental in shaping the department’s growth and success, working closely with the team to maintain the high standards our client is known for in the MRO industry.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Advising and providing instructions in response to technical assistance requests raised by the operator regarding any issues with their installed fleet. Focal for individual engine issue/engine on watch Interacting with the HES Propulsion engineering department, raising and forwarding technical queries to GE product support, managing those requests to achieve a timely reply. Coordinate and communicate any required on-wing/near wing working parties to support customers operations. Review and maintain fleet performance data and behavior of individual engines and identify system-based differences (eg SB configurations) Coordinate with operator on engine removal program and communicate engine removal/induction slot requirement with HES Coordinate supply of engine data to support workscope generation for shop input engines (PR and Q/T) Support ad-hoc operator requests Facilitate regular reviews (quarterly/annual) of shop performance, fleet stability etc. at customer site or HES. Interact with Quality Assurance Manager and/or GMQ for airworthiness and quality related issues. Engaging when required in quality investigations and ensuring that any corrective and preventative actions are delivered. Actively supporting and promoting continuous improvement. Liaison with other department heads on matters that interface with their departments. Developing and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligning with the company and operator contractual obligations.Experience Required to be successful in this opportunity:
At least 8 years’ experience within a powerplant engineering/technical department, ideally MRO based or airline.
Experience in successfully leading a technical team is preferable.
In-depth knowledge of engine structure and performance, ideally GE90 -115 or other similar wide body engines.
In depth understanding and application of authority required standards and practices such as EASA Part 145, CAAC AR145.
Prior experience with on wing trend analysis and condition monitoring an advantage.
Experience dealing with OEM and customer technical teams.
Ability to review and support the technical audit of USM and rotable material
Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential, Bulats Grade B2, preferable Grade C1.
