Technical Project Manager
Job Description we are hiring a Technical Project Manager for our Client, a leader in the cruise industry, to support their Business Applications organization. The IT Project Manager will lead software development projects for Business Applications – Shipboard and Shoreside (Guest and Crew). This role requires strong technical understanding of SDLC, QA processes, and Agile delivery frameworks, along with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Plan, execute, and deliver software projects on time and within scope. Coordinate across development, QA, product management, and business analysis teams. Ensure readiness for development and manage alignment between Service Delivery and Development teams. Facilitate Agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, sprint planning, estimation sessions. Monitor project progress using velocity, throughput, and burndown charts; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. Oversee QA milestones and ensure completion of testing phases (Unit, Integration, System, UAT, Performance, Security). Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting and stakeholder updates. Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and support multiple projects within a pod model. Skills and Requirements Experience: 10+ years in IT project management (must be reliable and proactive). SDLC Expertise: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle. QA Knowledge: Familiarity with testing phases and activities (planning, test cases, bug reporting). Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Oracle and APEX (SQL acceptable; APEX is a plus). Understanding of code management concepts (e.g., pull requests). Tools: Excel: Advanced skills (pivot tables, charts, formulas). Jira: User story workflows, advanced roadmap, dependency mapping. Confluence & SharePoint: Documentation and collaboration. Clarity: For reporting and budget management (preferred). Metrics: Ability to calculate velocity, throughput, and burndown charts for development and QA. Frameworks: Familiarity with PMBOK Guide and PMI best practices (PMP not required). Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders. Agile Delivery: Experience managing software development projects and Agile frameworks. Scrum Master Experience: Previous experience desirable. PMP or CSM certification. Experience with enterprise-level software delivery projects.
