Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with Project Management knowledge and NNSA experience to provide dedicated support for the LANSCE Accelerator Modernization Project (LAMP) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) site in support of the Federal Project Director (FPD) at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Los Alamos Project Management Office, NA-95. The successful candidate will use their knowledge and expertise to provide oversight of the LAMP project implementation of technical, engineering, and project management principles in support of the FPD.

What You'll Be Doing:

Performs project management responsibilities as assigned.Develops and maintains understanding of the project’s technical baseline and monitors the project’s process towards successful delivery of end state Key Performance Parameters and Project Completion Criteria throughout the project life cycle.Conducts Technical Evaluations and Reviews to assess requirement completeness and assist with identifying gaps and/or conflicts.Participates in Design Reviews, meetings, and associated activities providing oversight and support to ensure designs meets established requirements.Assists with coordination and planning for Federal Integrated Project Team Design Review participation.Reviews critical decision documents, including but not limited to project plans, schedules, estimates, and reporting as requested and/or necessary to support performance assessment.Promotes a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project activities. Maintains knowledge and strict compliance with informational, operational, and physical security requirements. Communicates effectively, orally and in writing to project team and clients.Coordinates and communicates with internal team and external clients/agencies.Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and presentations. Participates and/or leads meetings to review project status and track action items.Participates in Lessons Learned development and communication.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.5+ years of related experience.Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software.Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Software.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Active DOE Q clearance.Prior experience with Los Alamos Project Management Office.Completion of Department of Energy Project Management Career Development Program Earned Value Management Systems, Project Management Essentials, and Planning for Safety courses.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Department of Energy (DOE-Q) security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $72,900.00 - $127,600.00
