Job Description Insight Global's is seeking a Technical Project Manager with a strong background in manufacturing environments, particularly in electronics, aerospace, energy storage, or defense. This role is highly hands-on and cross-functional, requiring close collaboration with engineering, supply chain, quality, and sales teams. The TPM will lead technical initiatives from concept through execution, assess gaps, and drive solutions—especially in situations where processes or products are being developed for the first time. This is not an IT or software-focused role; candidates must be deeply familiar with hardware-centric environments. Key Responsibilities  Program Oversight & Strategy (40%)   ○ Lead strategic planning and execution of technical programs.   ○ Translate high-level goals into actionable plans.   ○ Track hours, costs, and budgets—especially for prototype builds and repeat manufacturing cycles.   ○ Drive cost-cutting initiatives in collaboration with supply chain and quality teams.  Internal Operations Awareness (30%)   ○ Maintain deep visibility into all activities within the facility.   ○ Identify operational gaps and proactively implement solutions.   ○ Guide engineering teams through first-time builds and high-cost prototyping.  Communication & Leadership (20%)   ○ Serve as the central communication hub across departments.   ○ Manage ongoing email correspondence, including outside standard business hours.   ○ Directly manage 1–2 reports in Sales/Business Development and Engineering.   ○ Provide soft-skill leadership and mentorship to junior team members.  Customer Engagement & Travel (10%)   ○ Attend design reviews and customer meetings.   ○ Travel is primarily domestic (U.S.), approximately once per month or every other month, with occasional international trips within North America. Skills and Requirements Must-Have Qualifications  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering or a STEM field).  • 7+ years of professional experience.  • 5+ years in project or program management, preferably in a manufacturing setting.  • Strong grasp of technical concepts and strategic thinking.  • Solid understanding of financial principles.  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite.  • Ability to assess ambiguous situations and make decisions within cost, time, and budget constraints. Preferred Qualifications  • PMP Certification (strongly preferred).  • Valid passport.  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite.  • Prior experience managing direct reports (team lead experience acceptable).
