Technical Professional Leader - Process
Responsibilities:
Leading or working within a team of process engineers you will advise, and contribute to the following:
+ Leading a team either within a large project or for smaller projects
+ Control manhours and budget and ensure process work is completed in line with the project schedule
+ Approval, checking or support the production of:
+ process simulations to produce heat and material balances,
+ process and utility flow diagrams,
+ piping and instrument diagrams,
+ calculations for the design or rating of equipment and apparatus such as heat exchangers, vessels, reactors, etc. and to develop system design parameters.
+ process hydraulic calculations for pump and line sizing
+ piping and instrument data to support downstream disciplines
+ Leading the development of concepts from client specifications
+ Supporting and producing technical and techno-economic studies
+ Responsible for the development of advanced controls/process optimization
+ Liaison with other disciplines, project management and client
Skills / Experience:
Essential
+ Experience leading a team of more than 10 process engineers.
+ Experience communicating across a multi-discipline team and across different offices.
+ Understanding of requirements of other disciplines as part of project execution.
+ Experience of workhour control and working to schedule and within budget on a major project.
+ Good organizational skills
+ Develop presentations and experience communicating with client team
+ Understanding of development of proposals for new projects
+ Must drive quality within the process team and ensure high standards are met in terms of consistency and checking of deliverables
+ Clear understanding of complex equipment sizing calculations and have experience specifying equipment
+ Experience of complex relief valve sizing cases and preparation of calculations
+ Experience of vessel and exchanger specification and sizing
+ Experience taking a leading role in a safety review (HazOp / SIL / LOPA)
+ Experience of developing hydraulic calculations for complex circuits
+ Good understanding of process control and experience developing/checking cause and effect diagrams
+ Strong written communication skills and experience of writing technical reports.
+ Self-motivated and good communication skills to enable effective team working.
+ Flexibility to work across a number of different technologies.
Desirable
+ Experience building simulation models in Hysys / Promax or similar simulation tool for complex simulations and ability to explain / train younger engineers
+ Experience of working on conceptual studies
+ Experience training / mentoring younger engineers either informally or through a formal training scheme
+ Has attained chartership status / equivalent with a recognized institution
Qualifications:
+ BSc degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
+ 15+ years' experience working with a major EPC contractor or operator.
