Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Performance Engineering Lead to define and drive end-to-end platform performance strategy across PC and high-performance computing (HPC) systems. In this role, you will lead performance tuning initiatives, establish standardized configurations and test methodologies, and translate benchmark results into actionable design improvements that measurably improve customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Define and own the platform performance tuning strategy, including targets, methodology, and success metrics.
Drive system-level performance design improvements across hardware, firmware, OS, drivers, and platform configuration.
Identify and prioritize high-impact performance “boosters” for each platform and workload segment.
Lead and oversee performance validation, including subsystem testing and baseline performance characterization.
Define standard platform configurations, test procedures, and documentation to ensure consistent performance and best-in-class customer experience.
Provide expert guidance on industry benchmark tools, including selecting appropriate tests and tuning methodologies to simulate real customer workflows.
Communicate performance findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and influence roadmap decisions through data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8-10 years of experience in PC platform validation, performance analysis, or system-level characterization.
Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas within high-performance systems: electrical engineering, power delivery, thermals, or power/thermal optimization.
Strong understanding of performance measurement principles, benchmarking, and experimental rigor (repeatability, controls, statistical confidence).
Ability to work cross-functionally and translate complex technical results into clear decisions and actions.
