We seek an expert Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) specializing on NX-OS architectures including AI networking solutions to join our dynamic team.
Here, you will help develop the Nexus 9000 line of data center switches and their associated software that features application awareness, ensuring network infrastructure flexibility and agility for dynamic response to application needs, virtual machine workload mobility and cloud extension. You will work with a diverse group of problem solvers and creative thinkers innovating Nexus 9000, NXOS, Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC), and Network fabric for Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.
**Your Impact**
As a senior NX-OS Networking TME, you will bridge the gap between our Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams. You will play a pivotal role in driving product adoption by demonstrating technical expertise, creating impactful marketing collateral, and engaging with customers to showcase the value of our offering for all Data Center Architectures. This hands-on role requires a high degree technical proficiency, marketing strategy, and customer interaction. Typical responsibilities include:
+ Serve as SME for NX-OS architectures, including NDFC and Nexus Dashboard networking products and solutions.
+ Collaborate with customers, sales, and partners to understand requirements, gather feedback, and support pre-sales activities such as proof-of-concept demonstrations.
+ Partner with engineering and product management to define, refine, and continuously improve product requirements and solutions.
+ Develop and execute the technical strategy for Product, emphasizing AI-driven automation and AIOps.
+ Create and deliver technical trainings, demonstrations, and marketing collateral including white papers, solution briefs, case studies, presentations, and videos.
+ Represent Cisco at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, leading deep-dive sessions and thought leadership presentations.
+ Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to define messaging, positioning, and showcase real-world use cases and demos.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with key Executive leadership.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 15+ years of experience in Technical Marketing, Product Engineering, Pre-Sales Engineering, or a related technical role.
+ Experience in DC networking technologies, WAN or Service Provider and knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN, Cloud, virtualization including high-performance computing (HPC), RDMA, Ethernet, and/or Dynamic Load-Balancing techniques.
+ Experience in working with various software defined network controllers, ansible and other automation technologies.
+ Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and hardware (e.g., switches, NICs, DPUs).
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Hands-on experience with network performance benchmarking and tuning.
+ Knowledge of open-source AI and networking tools and ecosystems.
+ Proven track record of developing technical marketing content for a technical audience
+ Demonstrated ability to tackle complex problems with creative and innovative solutions.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Experience in authoring white papers for website publication
+ Great teammate who excels in both small and large group environments.
+ Confident and effective in delivering presentations and pitches to customers and employees.

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
