Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager with a deep understanding of all the various components required in machine building and material selection. The ideal candidate should have over 15+ years of design experience in the SPM industry, with comprehensive expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation components used in special-purpose machine development. This role demands strong leadership, a detailed understanding of material properties, and an ability to manage the complete lifecycle of SPM projects. The Technical Manager will lead teams involved in the design of special-purpose machines for a variety of industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead a team of engineers, designers, and technicians in the design, development, and commissioning of special-purpose machines.
• Allocate resources effectively to ensure project milestones, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Mentor and guide team members in technical expertise, machine-building processes, and materials selection.
• Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Component and Material Expertise:
• Oversee the selection and specification of all components required for machine building, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
• Have in-depth knowledge of materials (e.g., metals, alloys, polymers, composites) used in the construction of special-purpose machines and their specific applications.
• Stay updated on new technologies and materials that can enhance machine performance, reliability, and durability.
• Design:
• Technical Ownership of the design process of special-purpose machines, ensuring that designs are optimized for functionality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure all machine designs meet the required specifications, safety standards.
• Work closely with design teams to review machine prototypes and perform thorough testing and analysis.
• Ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems in the machines.
• Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
• Monitor machine performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvements in both machine design and production processes.
• Recommend upgrades and modifications to enhance machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
• Project Management:
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring that machine development and delivery are on schedule.
• Monitor project costs and ensure that the projects stay within budget.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., quality, production, procurement) to ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Regularly report on project status, issues, and achievements to senior management.
• Quality and Compliance:
• Ensure all machines comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Implement rigorous testing and validation procedures to ensure machine quality and functionality.
• Maintain thorough documentation for machine designs, testing, and compliance certifications.
• Safety:
• Ensure all machines are designed and manufactured with safety as a top priority, adhering to local and international safety regulations.
• Lead safety initiatives in machine building, risk assessments, and ensure that all team members follow safe working practices.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience:
• 15+ years of experience in the design, development, and commissioning of special-purpose machines, with extensive knowledge of the components and materials used in machine building.
• Proven track record of managing teams and overseeing large-scale projects in the SPM industry.
• Expertise in selecting and specifying materials (metals, polymers, composites, etc.) for various machine components.
• Strong experience in the integration of electrical, mechanical, and automation systems in machine design.
• Hands-on experience with the latest trends in machine building, such as automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of materials science and engineering principles, particularly as applied to machine components.
• Expertise in CAD/CAE software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) for machine design and modeling.
• Proficiency in project management tools and techniques (e.g., Gantt charts, MS Project).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Ability to make strategic decisions and solve complex problems related to machine design, materials, and production processes.
