Role OverviewAs a Technical Manager – Authorising Engineer, you will play a critical role within the Safe Systems of Work Team, ensuring compliance, safety, and technical excellence across the UK.

Water Systems (ACOP L8) Cleaning & disinfection Water treatment, temperature monitoring & samplingAdditional Desirable Disciplines:
LV Electrical HV Electrical (training provided) Confined SpacesCore Duties:
Conduct AE audits to HTM, JSP, and Mitie standards; upload reports and drive corrective actions. Assess and recommend Authorised Persons (APs) for system coverage. Define AP responsibilities and maintain an up-to-date register. Issue Letters of Appointment (valid for up to 3 years) following competency assessments. Perform annual AP audits and review operational experience. Report deficiencies to Senior Leadership and recommend training as needed. Maintain AE diary and support APs in creating Safe Systems of Work. Provide technical training and stay current with legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards. Investigate dangerous occurrences and circulate safety alerts. Conduct technical inspections and condition reporting. Drive continuous improvement aligned with TST strategy. Travel extensively across the UK. What We're Looking ForExperience & Qualifications:
Recognised qualification in relevant disciplines. Proven experience as an Authorised Person; AE experience desirable. Strong technical knowledge and health & safety expertise. Demonstrable leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft tools and data analysis.Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-makers. Analytical mindset with problem-solving capability. Flexible, resilient, and able to meet demanding goals. Willingness to travel regularly. Health & Safety Responsibilities Follow all Group and company policies. Report deficiencies in systems or equipment. Use PPE and work equipment correctly. Highlight training needs to your line manager.
