The opportunity:

AIA New Zealand’s Technology team is seeking a Technical Lead – Salesforce and Front End with strong leadership capabilities and hands-on expertise to drive the development of engaging digital experiences using Salesforce technologies such as Omnistudio, Lightning, Experience site, and Marketing Cloud.

This role is ideal for a technical expert who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering scalable solutions. The Technical Lead will champion engineering excellence by enhancing technical practices and cultivating a strong engineering culture. They will simplify technology through strategic leadership across Salesforce and frontend teams, ensuring solutions are designed with a “build once, use for all” mindset to streamline business processes. Responsibilities include overseeing solution design, providing accurate development estimates, and leading technical implementation to ensure high-quality outcomes and smooth deployments.

The role also involves close collaboration with internal and external teams to establish best practices, clarify expectations, and mentor team members across both project and BAU contexts.

Key responsibilities include:

Software delivery and technical development

Requirement analysis, solution design and development estimation

Technical design for assigned projects, small work requests and BAU activities across the technology portfolio.

Where required design, code, unit test, build and deploy complex software components

Leading and Mentoring Development Team

Work collaboratively with the AIA business SME’s, Project Managers, Development Teams (local and offshore) and vendors to deliver required software solution across the technology portfolio.

Lead the review and redesign of processes or procedures, on an ongoing basis, to deliver improved team productivity and efficiency

Application Architecture

Take full responsibility for defining a technical solution based on detailed Business Requirements and aligned to the solution architecture across the technology portfolio.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

Bachelor, Technical Degree or Tertiary qualifications in Technology or related discipline, or 5+ years’ experience in application development

Multiple Salesforce certifications

Excellent knowledge of and experience at least one of the following technologies:

Salesforce Service Cloud

Salesforce Sales Cloud

Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Salesforce Industries and Omnistudio

Salesforce Experience Cloud

Salesforce Platform Apex development

Salesforce Visualforce, Aura and LWC development

Salesforce AI Agentforce and Einstein

Strong commercial experience of working within software development projects
