Thales India Engineering Competency Center (ECC) in Bangalore is seeking a RF technical lead engineer role. In this role you will be responsible for design, development, analysis, testing, and integration of RF systems and components used in secure communications and resilient network, intelligence and surveillance systems, command and control systems for land, air and sea applications

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics & Communication engineering or Electrical engineering, RF engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Higher qualification of PhD is desirable. Working experience in Defence systems and secure communications experience in Identification of friend or foe (IFF) systems, radio navigation systems, electronic communications warfare is desirable.

Technical skills and key responsibilities:

Must have strong experience in the design and development of RF and analogue support focussing mainly on the HF and VHF domain.Must have very good experience in evaluating solutions, troubleshooting and designing circuits using RF simulation tools and spice tools.Should have an experience in evaluating new technologies and innovation in cutting edge hardware that power secure communications and advanced defence systemsMust have experience of developing circuit schematics with design justificationShould have an experience of designing hardware rigs, assemblies, performing integration and verification testsShould coordinate with PCB layout engineer, industrialization for the layout and fabricating the prototypesServe as the primary technical authority during design reviews, integration milestones, and RF test campaignsShould have an experience of performing qualification tests, troubleshooting and fixing the technical solutionsShould have an experience of producing the comprehensive design documentation throughout the product life cycle, from capturing the requirements to test specifications definitionEnsure compliance with standards such as MIL-STD, DO-160, FCC/CE, or defence specific requirements.

General & Soft skills

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and mechanical engineers, to seamlessly integrate RF solutions into larger product designs.General understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles including design, development, testing, verification and validation phasesDesign for manufacture, Design for environmental requirements including EMCStrong communication skills written and verbal, French language is preferableKnowledge of Military Standards, digital signal processing concepts relevant to defence
