Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities

 

Design Checking, Validation & Product Definition LeadershipPerform rigorous checks of 3D models, 2D drawings, and associated documentation for Gas Turbine components and assemblies.Ensure compliance with design standards, GD&T practices, configuration rules, and manufacturing feasibility.Validate BOM structures, material specifications, and drawing annotations for completeness and accuracy.Lead the creation and validation of 3D models, 2D drawings, and digital twins using advanced CAD tools.Ensure design intent is accurately captured and aligned with performance, manufacturability, and serviceability goals.Standards & Technical GovernanceDefine and uphold best practices for product definition, including modelling conventions, drawing quality, configuration control, and release protocols.Maintain alignment with internal and industry standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5, aerospace regulatory requirements).Drive consistency across engineering teams through standardized templates, checklists, and review processes.Review and approve engineering deliverables including design documentation, BOMs, and change notices.Collaboration & MentorshipWork closely with design engineers, manufacturing, sourcing, repair and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and improve product definition robustness.Provide constructive feedback and coaching to junior engineers on design quality and documentation discipline.Lead peer reviews and design audits to ensure cross-functional alignment and technical rigor.Support design reviews, DFMEA sessions, and supplier technical engagements.Mentor junior engineers and drive skill development in CAD, GD&T, and PLM systems.Tools & SystemsUtilize advanced CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA) and PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill) for design validation and release.Support digital engineering initiatives including model-based definition and automated checking tools.Leverage PLM platforms for configuration management, release workflows, and traceability.Contribute to tool enhancement and process automation to streamline checking workflows.

Work Experience
Required Skills & Qualifications

 

EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.Technical Expertise10+ years of experience in Gas Turbine design and product definition, with a strong focus on checking and validation.Expert-level proficiency in CAD modelling, drawing creation, and GD&T interpretation.Deep understanding of turbine component design, manufacturing processes, and serviceability considerations.Leadership & CommunicationProven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex design programs.Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and global stakeholder engagement.Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and quality.Preferred QualificationsExperience with aerospace certification and documentation standards.Familiarity with repairable component design and lifecycle considerations.Exposure to Six Sigma, DFMA, or quality assurance methodologies.
