The successful cand id ate may be required to teach courses on the DeKalb Campus and/or the Newton Campus. • The instructor will instruct students in skilled and technical programs to a diverse population in business, industry and manufacturing. • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives. • Ability to administer tests and evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests. • Develops teaching methods and maintains management procedures and documentation. • Maintains program certification requirements in the field of instruction. • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students. Preferred: A degree from an accredited college or university *and* completed course comparab l e with the curriculum taught *OR* (5) five experience/expertise in the area of curriculum taught. CDL Examiners License, extensive in-field work experience, teach i ng experience at the post- secondary level, and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned. Minimum: This position requires two years teaching experience with large combination vehicles. Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED. T wo years formal training, a Class A with a Passenger Endorsement Commercial Driving License (CDL), complete a 7-year Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR)-no moving violations in the past 3 years, able to pass DOT physical, able to pass drug screen, and have strong computer, communication and interpersonal skills. Applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends.
