Technical Fraud Data Analyst

PROVIDES training and skill development to SIU analysts. EXPLORES and ANALYZES methods and systems to enhance SIU capabilities as they relate to fraud detection, deterrence, and prevention. EVALUATES and DEVELOPS procedures and processes to assist with control audits of SIU Teams.

Essential Functions:

1. PROVIDES training and skill development to SIU analysts in an effort to identify questionable activity. TRAINS analysts on software programs such as SAS, link analysis, statistical analysis and trending analysis and INDENTIFIES patterns amongst large data sets.

2. EXPLORES and ANALYZES methods and systems to enhance SIU capabilities as they relate to fraud detection, deterrence, and prevention.

3. CONDUCTS research and INVESTIGATES workflows to verify business procedures are relevant and RECOMMENDS necessary changes. ENSURES GEICO’s compliance standards and regulations are followed appropriately by conducting countrywide control audits.

4. PERFORMS high level decision making regarding analysis, requirements, components, and functionality utilized in developing data models and COMMUNICATES results to senior management at the Director and Vice President levels.

5. PREPARES and DISTRIBUTES reports and analyses from gathered data and COORDINATES information between SIU and outside agencies to further GEICO’s fraud detection capabilities.

6. PROVIDES analysis to SIU major case teams to assist in developing strong cases and to ensure consistency in case handling.

7. MAINTAINS performance evaluation data for review of work produced by regional SIU analysts. MEASURES success of trained material by auditing the analysts’ work and PROVIDES feedback to ensure consistency amongst all locations.

8. MONITORS daily Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) hits provided to GEICO to ensure company assets are not provided to individuals on the federal watch list.

9. SCANS and EXTRACTS data based upon various indicators, targets, and intelligence information provided by locations, and CONDUCTS pro-active data gathering that may have potential for fraud investigation.

10. DEVELOPS and ANALYZES measures of activities to discover trends in SIU regional and national operations.

11. ADHERES to the Code of Conduct, company policies, and operating principles.

12. MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.

13. MEETS the requirements specified below.

• Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking

• Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

• Must be able to multi-task

• Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

• Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Required Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of experience writing / coding in SQL daily (experience coding in Snowflake a bonus)

Must have 2+ years of experience building and maintaining multiple PowerBI dashboards

Preferred Qualifications

DBT level intermediate

Fluent in Python

Experience in the insurance industry and/or fraud detection
