Technical/Field Service Engineer – Medical Equipment (ICU, NICU & OR)
About the Opportunity Our client is a well-established Netherlands-based medical equipment distributor with over 35 years of experience and a strong track record across Central & Eastern Europe. They serve ICU, OR, emergency, neonatology and anaesthesia departments in major hospitals. Role Overview

As a Technical Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of advanced ICU and OR medical devices across Romania. This is a field-based role — you will spend the majority of your time on-site in hospitals, ensuring equipment performs to the highest clinical standards.

 

Key Responsibilities Install, configure, calibrate and commission ICU and OR medical equipment per manufacturer standards Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance and repairs Troubleshoot complex device issues both on-site and remotely Train hospital staff on the safe and effective use of equipment Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation Provide timely first-line technical support and escalate where needed

 

What We're Looking For 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing medical equipment in hospital settings (ICU, NICU or OR preferred) Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and biomedical systems Structured diagnostic approach — calm and methodical under pressure Strong communication skills with both clinical and technical staff Fluent Romanian; working English proficiency (mandatory — supplier documentation and training are in English) Willingness to travel nationwide and valid driving license
