Job Description
At Accor , we create inspiring hospitality spaces that blend design, functionality, and sustainability. We are seeking a Technical Engineer - MEP to join our project technical office in the Marsa Alam area. This position supports multiple large-scale construction and renovation projects across several premium resorts.
This is an office-based, design-focused role responsible for developing complete MEP systems layouts and technical documentation , ensuring integration with architectural designs provided by external consultants. The role requires a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with architects, project managers, and contractors.
Your Mission
Design & Documentation
- Develop detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system designs based on architectural plans, ensuring compliance with project requirements, brand standards, and local codes.
- Produce drawings, schematics, and technical specifications for MEP systems using CAD and other relevant software.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and interior design teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Technical Coordination
- Collaborate with third-party architects, specialist consultants, and contractors to resolve design challenges and ensure feasibility.
- Adapt and optimize designs to meet operational needs, sustainability goals, and budget constraints.
- Review and incorporate value engineering proposals where appropriate.
Project Support
- Prepare and update MEP design packages for tendering and construction documentation.
- Support the procurement process by specifying equipment, reviewing supplier proposals, and advising on technical selections.
- Assist with technical clarifications during the construction phase through RFI responses, shop drawing reviews, and design adjustments as needed.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all designs adhere to local regulations, international codes, and Accor brand standards .
- Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions into MEP designs, supporting Accor's environmental commitments.
Your Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and documentation for large-scale projects; hospitality experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and other design tools.
- Strong understanding of HVAC, power distribution, lighting, fire safety, water supply, and drainage systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and green building standards is desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple project deliverables.
