Raytheon is an industry leader in foundational technology development, maturation of integrated solutions, and providing full mission solutions to national defense challenges. This position provides technical development leadership and vision for the portfolio. This role focuses on identifying and developing next-generation technologies, architectures, and concepts to maintain and expand Raytheon’s competitive edge. The Technical Director acts as a key influential interface with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and industry partners.
What You Will Do
Generate new launched effects and loitering munitions technologies and apply the broad resources of Raytheon to maturation of those technologiesMature through investment and smart partnerships advanced kinetic and non-kinetic payloads for our family of launched effectsDevelop and champion a long-term technical roadmap for the portfolio anticipating future customer needs and technology advancementsIdentify and evaluate emerging technologies with potential applications to the portfolio, including areas like collaborative behaviors, composable interfaces, advanced power propulsion and power solutions, alternative navigation, and advanced communicationsLead and participate in strategic capture efforts, provide technical expertise and guidance for proposal developmentCultivate relationships with key technical personnel within government agencies, research institutions, and industry partnersRepresent Raytheon at technical conferences, symposia, and customer meetingsMentor and guide engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellenceMonitor and analyze competitor activities, identifying potential threats and opportunitiesOversee Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects, ensuring alignment with the overall technical strategyCollaborate with Program Mangers and Chief Engineers to ensure smooth transition of new technologies into existing programsLead technical responses for White Papers, Request for Information, and Requests for Proposals associated with new growth opportunitiesDevelop technology demonstration plans and interface with external partners and customers to mature those plansDrive the execution of that strategy across multiple programsQualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum seven (7) years experienceExperience with technology development utilizing company internal investment fundsThe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
