Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

NBC News Studios is seeking a skilled, seasoned audio ENG and production manager to perform the following duties across multiple NBC News podcast titles.

Duties:

Manage pre- and post-production, audio and video ingest, including live and remote recordings, audio mix, scoring, spec compliance, and final delivery of all published episodes video-first and audio-first podcasts.Manage and execute mixes of original pods and showcasts.Work with editorial teams to pull, edit, score, and mix repurposed or extended cuts of interviews pulled from broadcast for podcast feeds.Work with editorial and production teams to manage pre- and post-production on originals, weeklies, and new shows.Support transition of audio podcasts to video, train teams on how to prepare video podcasts for delivery.As needed, travel to live events and work with editorial, talent, and broadcast crews to optimize audio quality and capture for podcast.Plan and operationalize podcast workflows for new shows, optimizing for existing editorial structure, workflow, and show format.Onboard and train new audio hires.Misc: Budget and order gear for teams; Archive files and projects; Oversee and assemble cue sheets; Write music briefs, hire composers, and provide creative music supervision on original music packages.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

At least 8 years of experience managing long-form projects and podcasting logisticsProficiency in and management of Riverside.fm, Descript, Dropbox, etc.Ability to provide access and troubleshooting for all teamsAbility to deal with unexpected circumstances and prepare workable alternative plansStrong knowledge of emerging platforms and documentary landscapesSolid knowledge of new shooting techniques, workflows and equipment

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
