Cleveland-Cliffs Steel is seeking a motivated individual with a good understanding of the business and manufacturing applications software market to fill an immediate opening for a Technical Category Buyer. The ideal candidate will be a procurement professional with experience buying a large variety of software and IT services or an experienced information technology (“IT”) professional looking to build off their past experience. This individual will serve as a liaison between Cliffs' internal IT users, Cliffs' information security, Cliffs' legal, and external channel partners and service providers. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in a wide variety of business and manufacturing software, a strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. The role will be on-site at our corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. Summary of Responsibilities: + Negotiate commercial aspects of software licenses, order forms, and service agreements + Identify cost opportunities and facilitate bidding + Identify risk with software and coordinate internal review when appropriate + Assist with tracking and elimination of duplicate licensing + Review specifications and issue purchase orders for software, licenses, support and IT services + Assist with resolving billing issues + Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field + Five years of experience in the information technology field or five years of procurement experience buying business and manufacturing application software and services + Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Preferred Qualifications: + Strong analytical and negotiation skills + Ability to understand technical specifications + Fundamental understanding of the legal aspects associated with software licenses and service agreements Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.  Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
