Technical Business Analyst with Asset / Wealth management domain experience

Hybrid working model-3 days from the client office in Central London
Contract inside IR 35/ Fixed term contract for initially 6 months with possible extensions

As a Technical Business Analyst within the Global Data Solutions team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging technology and investment business functions. You will represent the data platform strategy to multiple stakeholder groups, ensuring that data solutions deliver measurable business value across the Asset and Wealth Management ecosystem. This role combines deep domain understanding of investment products and portfolio data with hands-on technical proficiency in data analysis, integration, and visualization.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with investment, operations, and technology teams to define and deliver data-driven solutions supporting portfolio management, client reporting, compliance, and regulatory initiatives. Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and data specifications, user stories, and process models for delivery teams. Collaborate with data engineers, solution architects, and business stakeholders to design end-to-end data flows across front-, middle-, and back-office systems. Analyse large and complex datasets across clients, portfolios, transactions, and market reference data to identify trends, data quality issues, and opportunities for optimization. Build and maintain data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and data governance artefacts to ensure transparency and traceability of investment data. Define and implement data quality rules, controls, and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy of portfolio and client data. Use SQL and data visualization tools to validate business rules, perform impact assessments, and communicate insights effectively to senior stakeholders. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and user training for data-centric releases, ensuring alignment with business expectations and compliance standards.Drive workshops with cross-functional teams to capture user pain points, data challenges, and opportunities for automation and improvement.
Act as the primary liaison between business users and technology teams, ensuring clear communication, prioritization, and timely delivery of data products and enhancements.Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
Deep understanding of Asset and Wealth Management products – including mutual funds, equities, fixed income, structured products, and derivatives. Working knowledge of portfolio management, client onboarding, trade lifecycle, performance reporting, and compliance frameworks. Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with experience managing cross-functional workshops. Proficiency in data analysis, SQL, and working with structured/unstructured investment data from multiple source systems. Experience with data modelling, data governance, data quality frameworks, and reference/master data management. Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and APIs for data integration. Hands-on use of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau for insight delivery and performance analytics. Exposure to regulatory initiatives relevant to asset management (e.g., MiFID II, ESG, SFDR, BCBS 239). Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to translate complex data flows into clear business outcomes.
