Technical Associate:
This position will provide advanced technical support for the Structural Material and Pavement Marking Division in materials evaluation, inspection, testing, and manufacturing/application processes under the responsibility of that division. This individual is expected to have advanced knowledge of these materials and processes as well as a strong background in the Quality Control/Assurance used in the inspection of these materials.
This position will work principally out of the SHA Hanover Maryland Office Complex but will be expected to travel to job sites and/or facilities within and outside of Maryland, as the assignments require.
Minimum Qualifications:
AWS Training or Certification in Welding Inspection (AWS CWI)
Coating chemistry and application of coatings to various substrates (NACE or AMPP training are applicable)
Formal education in materials science or materials properties.
Knowledge of metals properties and the fabrication of metal structures.
Knowledge of traffic marking materials and their application.
MARTP Certification (Pavement Markings) – NOTE – Training and certification can be supported by Bureau Veritas if candidate is not currently certified.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following certifications:
NACE/AMPP Level 2 or Level 3
Work experience in dealing with state organizations (DOT’s or other municipalities)
Pay Range - $40 - $50
