Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will provide technical leadership across a wide range of platforms, ensuring service stability, performance, and resilience for critical systems. You’ll be hands-on in resolving incidents, analysing problems, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen our technology landscape. Collaborating closely with SMEs, problem management, and technical leaders, you’ll use your expertise to drive investigations, troubleshoot issues, and design improvements that keep services reliable and future-ready.
You will also play a key role in shaping best practices, promoting agile ways of working, and bringing clarity to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is an opportunity to combine your depth of knowledge with influence and ownership, while contributing directly to service excellence and client outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead & Innovate: Take ownership of critical service issues and provide direction during high-priority incidents.
Investigate & Resolve: Work with SMEs and problem management to perform root cause analysis using tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Optimise & Improve: Identify opportunities to enhance system stability, capacity, and performance.
Collaborate & Support: Act as a bridge between technical teams and wider stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
Document & Share: Review and refine documentation, ensuring knowledge is accurate and actionable.
Anticipate & Adapt: Engage in proactive monitoring and research new technical areas to strengthen service resilience.
Contribute & Engage: Join technical forums and calls, ensuring ongoing awareness and input into emerging issues.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong technical foundation across applications and infrastructure, with proven experience in service troubleshooting and performance optimisation. You should be confident working in fast-paced environments, able to balance detail with big-picture thinking, and comfortable engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
You should have:
Proven background as a Technical or Solutions Architect, Analyst, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux.
Good understanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalling, load-balancing, and clustering.
Experience with Docker and containerised services.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting live services and monitoring performance.
Familiarity with tools such as Logpoint, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
Knowledge of application architecture (monolithic and microservices) and data architecture.
Experience of working in Agile environments with Jira/Confluence.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt technical detail for different audiences.
