The Software Technical Account Manager(SW TAM) is responsible for interfacing with Japanese carriers (MNOs and/or MVNOs) to drive the clarification and articulation of SW and network(NW) requirements, and for communicating these to internal teams such as Motorola R&D, Product Operations, and Sales & Marketing.

This position requires Project Management skills and experience to facilitate effective communication with customers, and to lead projects in close collaboration with Motorola’s senior management, local sales and marketing teams, global R&D and product operations teams, and the quality assurance team.

Key responsibilities

- Work as the point of contact for development matters with both customers and internal teams. Proactively collaborate with internal teams to build strong relationships with carriers and ensure business success.

- Understand customer SW/NW requirements and communicate effectively with key internal teams in a timely manner to increase customer satisfaction.

- Participate in the pre-sales phase to identify customer needs and preferences. And demonstrate Motorola technologies to customers as needed.

- Manage technical and project aspects of RFPs by coordinating with internal teams and presenting to customers.

- During product development, work with the development team to meet customer requirements following the customer process. And make sure time plan and resources leading internal team and manage test vendors.

- Provide status updates through regular meetings with customers.

- Lead failure analysis to fix technical issues found in development phase or after-sales working with CS/Development team and business team. Support analysis activities when needed.

- Provide strategic input to internal team regarding the industry or application technology trend in Japan to enhance the partnership with the customers.

- Travel domestic and overseas as needed.


Key Requirements

- At least 3 years’ experience of developing models for NTT / KDDI / Softbank /Rakuten / MVNO.

- Experienced in project management, leading teams, resolving technical issues, and ensuring milestones are met on schedule.

- Working experience under Cross-functional environment together with other technical teams (e.g. radio/modem, electrical, mechanical, cert, system/platform, application, etc.)

- Skilled at understanding technical value propositions and translating them into business value. Experienced in managing RFPs and customer-provided requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering product and technical presentations to customers.
- Knowledgeable in the smartphone development process, key communication technologies, and core smartphone functionalities.
- Experience in system design, functional block design, evaluation, or debugging as part of a software or network development team, with hands-on involvement in at least one of these areas.
- Experience of failure analysis and fixing problems that occurred at customers.
- Prior experience in an operator technical interfacing role required.
