AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

The AWS Infrastructure Capacity Planning Team is searching for a passionate and talented Regional Power Programs TIPM to drive improvements in existing data center utilization across the US-West region. You will have goals to reclaim stranded power and work with regional planners to maximize the use of space/power/cooling in each data center. You will work across the AWS Organization to forecast project requirements, plan resources, review performance to plan, and improve processes and automation to deliver capacity more efficiently.

If you love being at the forefront of industry growth and development, applying your people skills and your analytical skills to drive insight into the business and improve the quality of key inputs, then this is a spot for you. This is a high impact role offering an opportunity work cross-functionally on lasting solutions that impact the long-term future of AWS.

Key job responsibilities

• Work with Fleet Remediation Engineering (FRE) and Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) to plan resources, execute site-level plans initiated by each respective CDP cluster planner, and assist with securing project funding where needed
• Work with CDP cluster planners, FRE, and CPI to determine constraining factors in each data center and come up with outside the box solutions for improving power utilization across sites, campuses, and Availability Zones (AZs)
• Influence product roadmaps and automation such as Position Recovery Planner (PRP) and lead efforts to scale the planning and delivery of infrastructure in existing data centers
• Work with partner teams to optimize the 0-2 year planning schedules for different types of infrastructure projects such Reworks/Simple Infills, Complex Infills, WMW-ERE, ERUDs, DC Refresh, and Site Turndown.
