The Tech 1, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Corrective and Preventive (CAPA) Maintenance and Calibration practices and know-how.

Job Description

What You'll Do

Performs general instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench-top instrumentationPerforms calibrations to instrumentation and controlsFollows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standardsPerforms loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityAssists and performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activitiesAdheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practicesNotifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are foundAttends all required and safety and health trainingSupports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as neededPerforms spare parts assessments, as requiredPerforms other duties, as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systemsEffective communication, both written and oralAbility to work in a team environmentMust be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on-call and weekends

Required Skills

High School Diploma/GED1-2 years of I&C experience Experience with tools and equipment used to perform maintenance work

Preferred Skills

Associates degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or a related fieldPrior I&C experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated environmentExperience with troubleshooting instrumentation and controlsExperience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), such as ProCalV5, Blue Mountain, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc.Experience with Microsoft Office or other computer software
