*subject to local tax (if applicable) and less any applicable salary due under any relevant Local Employment Contract.

 

As the project moves beyond the initial mobilisation phase, your contract will be revised within the next three months to align with GardaWorld’s standard terms. This will include a reduction to your current monthly rate to reflect the long-term pay structure for the project and to bring it in line with country and industry norms. In addition, the current 40-day Home Leave cycle will be replaced by a formal rotational contract, with clearly defined on duty and off duty periods.

Onboarding Fee

USD $218.00 per month, to be paid in arrears.

Home Leave

40 days per 12-month period, subject to operational requirements

Visa Requirements

The Company shall be responsible and liable for the multi-entry visa cost as required in order to deliver the Services. Any visa costs incurred shall be reimbursed.

Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

 

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

Company will provide the Contractor with food, drink, transportation and accommodation as necessary whilst the Contractor is engaged in a project.

 

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

 

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

 

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.  The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or such other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodations at the project.

Role Requirements

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of emergency medical care, trauma response, and basic life support. Ability to function effectively under pressure and in high-risk situations. Team-oriented, with good communication and situational awareness. Attention to detail and accurate documentation practices. Physically fit and mentally resilient to meet the demands of deployment. Familiarity with medical equipment, emergency transport, and basic rescue tools.

 

Essential Requirements:

Minimum FREC Level 3, FPOS Intermediate, or equivalent qualification. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in emergency response, prehospital care, or a similar role. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Previous experience working in remote, high-risk, or international environments. Understanding of medical SOPs, emergency protocols, and casualty reporting. Clean medical history and fitness for deployment to a high-tempo operational site. Current and valid UK C or C1 Driver's license (for B6 vehicles) or other as accepted by the Authority.

 

Desirable:

Higher PHEM qualifications (e.g., MIRA, FREC Level 4, or military medic training). Firefighting, rescue, or HSE-related certifications. Prior military, law enforcement, or emergency services experience. Experience on international contracts (e.g., FCDO, DoD, Oil & Gas). Knowledge of radio operations, incident command, and MEDEVAC coordination. Familiarity with hazardous material response and fire safety systems.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the position of Emergency Response Team (ERT) Team Member and include, but are not limited to, the provision of emergency medical response, trauma care, and general support to safety and security operations at Balad, Iraq. The Contractor will carry out duties under the direct supervision of the ERT Team Lead and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), site-specific emergency protocols, and operational requirements.

 

Services the Contractor can expect to carry out would include:

Responding to medical emergencies, trauma incidents, and other on-site incidents as a frontline responder. Administering appropriate first aid, trauma management, and patient stabilization within scope of training and in compliance with medical SOPs. Supporting the Team Lead and wider ERT team in the deployment of emergency equipment, evacuation procedures, and incident containment. Assisting in daily checks and maintenance of medical kits, equipment, vehicles, and personal gear. Participating in scheduled drills, training sessions, and emergency simulations to maintain team readiness and operational standards. Completing medical documentation, incident reports, and routine logs accurately and in a timely manner. Conducting regular patrols and safety inspections in support of ERT objectives and site safety compliance. Assisting with casualty handovers and coordination with higher medical support (on-site or external). Supporting broader safety initiatives, including fire response, evacuation planning, and HSE compliance activities as directed. Maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality at all times. Undertaking any other reasonable duties as directed by the ERT Team Lead, Deputy Manager, or GardaWorld management.

 

This service is critical to ensuring a swift and professional response to medical and safety incidents at Balad, Iraq. ERT Team Members form the backbone of the site’s emergency response capability, contributing directly to the safety, well-being, and operational continuity of the client’s workforce and infrastructure.
