Team Leader - Secondary Operations
Essential Functions To support the Secondary Operations Supervisor in supervising team members to ensure that production targets are met in a safe and compliant manner. Specific Responsibilities + Team Supervision + Assign tasks and monitor performance + Train new employees and support skill development + Effectively manage any conduct or performance issues with the support of the Supervisor and/or Departmental Manager. + Production Management + Ensure production schedules and targets are achieved working with ATD & TOC + Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes as needed + Appropriately escalate any machine breakdowns or production issues + Operate machinery as required + Quality + Ensure quality procedures are understood and being adhered to + Work with quality teams to address defects or improvements + Health & Safety + Lead by example in promoting the EHS culture, ensure all team members are compliant with safety procedures to include PPE adherence + Identify and report Incident Free Events and ensure team members do the same + Report and investigate any incidents + Process Improvement + Maintain and improve housekeeping through implementing 5S workplace organisation standards. + Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements + Support lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives + Support with the commissioning of new machinery + Improve training materials and standard operating procedures + Support creating a multi skilled team who are able to cover all Cells + Support in creating full and clear job instructions for all Cells + Reporting & Communication + Support with the facilitation of shift meetings, updating employees on key departmental priorities + Work closely with the supervisory team to ensure relevant information is communicated between shifts + Communicate updates to management and other departments as necessary + Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and quality teams + Provide guidance on sensitive issues, gaining support from HR as needed. Experience & Background + Demonstrated team leading experience + Knowledge of secondary operation processes advantageous Person specification - Competencies + Strong communication skills + Able to take the lead and respond to challenging situations + Lead by example, demonstrating a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism and integrity + Working knowledge of MS Office + Company advocate + Calm and resilient approach + Team player with the ability to train, coach and persuade employees + Logical approach to problem solving + High attention to detail + Strong organisation & prioritisation skills Education + Level 2 ILM qualification desirable
