**How will you make a difference?**
+ Responsible for a group of people who produce quality work while maintaining a smooth flow of output which matches customer demand within either a department or a cell. Provides technical expertise for team members when needed. Problem solves through others or through team input. Develops, releases, and then ensures the team meets the schedule daily. Works with skilled and semi-skilled team members to ensure safety, 5S, Total Productivity Maintenance TPM, continuous improvement, cross training and implementation of other lean manufacturing tools.
**What do we want to know about you?**
+ Requires a Forklift License, possible certification in machining and welding.
+ Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; 4 to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to understand CNC machining (both Mills and Lathes), Brake Press Machining, Welding, robot welders, and laser cutters. Understand and execute capacity planning, act as a mentor for lower-level Team Leader positions.

**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Assigns jobs to either cell members or department employees and reviews Kandan cards or other schedules to establish priorities based upon due dates.
+ Daily spot checks safety, 5S, and quality and TPM requirements within the area.
+ Provides information to supervisor or manager of problems or issues outside of scope of responsibility.
+ Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met. Maintains 99% or better OTD (on time delivery) performance with internal and external customers.
+ Creates detailed schedule timelines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met.
+ Able to read and interpret blueprints, BOM’s, Routers and other technical documents. Trains and ensure employees are utilizing proper PPE for each area.
+ Complete training spreadsheet for all new hires. Train employees on the technical aspects of the job.
+ Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5’s for your respective area and all of VBI.
**What about the physical demands of the job?**
+ The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
Starting Salary: $38.00-$42.00
