Team Leader - Geisinger St. Luke's

The Team Leader is responsible for leading the mechanics in the inspection, testing, repairing, maintenance and modification to the various established hospital equipment. He/she will communicate all activities through the Director of Facilities. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information + The Team Leader will be responsible for the follow up and non-scheduled work orders, assuring these work assignments are properly performed and meet department standards + Provides supervision and guidance to staff enduring compliance with Hospital Policies and Procedures + Communicates effectively (written and verbal) and cooperates with other staff to facilitate task achievement + Completed necessary repairs and maintenance on assigned equipment, utilizing established standards, providing legible written documentation as to what is accomplished + Assignments may include project involvement to assure contractors follow their contractual agreement and that proper methodology is used. These findings will be reported to the Facilities Director + Investigates, evaluates and remedies problems brought to his/her attention, to provide a safe, healthful and pleasant environment for patients, visitors and staff + Communicates and works directly with unit manager, nurses and other staff to ensure optimum care is provided + Maintains good public relations by responding professionally to their needs + Performs the above duties for hospital working with the Director of Facilities to establish new preventative maintenance routines and modify existing ones for the Facility PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Requires standing for up to 8 hours per day and walking for up to 4 hours per day, sitting for extended periods of up to 2 hours, lifting loads of up to 60 lbs., pushing loads up to 300 lbs, bending, crouching, reaching, twisting, climbing (stairs and ladders), and manual dexterity to make equipment repairs. Seeing as it relates to normal vision and hearing as it relates to normal hearing. EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.) TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience in one or more trades found in the Engineering Department.
