Team Leader - Environment
WSP is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and delivery-oriented candidate for a dual role within the Environment Business Line as a Support Services Team Leader and a profound interest in CAD technologies and updates. As the Support Services Team Leader you will work with a multi-disciplinary team of technical staff in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley to create a team culture, act as liason to the Canadian team by contributing to the growth of the iCRC services within the Environment Business Line and ensure timely and quality delivery of projects. As CAD Lead, you will work within the Ecology & Environmental Impact Assessment team to assist with Geotechnical, Data management, mapping activities, and modelling activities related to environmental investigations, rehabilitation, and regeneration projects for private and public clients. Mapping activities would be based on input and requests from the Ecology team in Ontario, Canada. Responsibilities also include working with other iCRC team members to ensure Quality Assurance/Quality control in both communication with the larger Geotecnical team, and work products being delivered. Contribute to the technical capabilities of the Earth & Environmental team through provision of training. The CAD role would involve: + Geomatics Engineering Technologist certificate or other relevant technical training or Diploma holder + Around 8 years of Experience in the Environment field, primary work will include producing design drawings as per engineering requirements as well as producing as-built drawings + Experience producing the following types of drawings are an asset; Phase 1 & 2 Drawings, Landfill Reporting Figures, Air and Noise Figures, Rural Servicing Designs, Sub slab vapour designs, Radon Mitigation System Designs + At least 5 plus years' experience using AutoCAD and related software in the preparation of survey related plans for the engineering sector + Excellent computer skills with a good understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D + Ability to create drawings using ArcGIS and geospatial systems is recommended + An understanding of Microsoft Access (Database Manipulation) is recommended + An understanding of the basic principles of surveying and survey plan requirements + Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines + Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis + The capacity to learn new software and be open to new ideas + Ability to identify and set priorities; effective time management + Strong attention to detail **Key Competencies / Skills:** **Mandatory Skills** + A minimum of 8 years directing staff, providing QA/QC, contributing to growth of a team + A minimum of 8+ years of experience in providing CAD support for large multidisciplinary projects. + Demonstrated proficiency of GIS tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D + Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. + Proven ability to manage a team of CAD professionals. + Attention to detail and Proven Ability to Review others work for QA/QC. + Ability to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment. + Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. **Desired Skills** + GIS experience desirable. + International experience is preferred. **Qualifications** + Degree in Geography, Civil, Mechanical, Geology, Environmental Science or other related field, or equivalent experience.
