Job Description

To manage and optimize the Bank’s credit risk portfolio by ensuring a balanced approach that maximizes returns on capital while upholding the Bank’s credit risk principles and ethical standards. The role also safeguards the Bank’s assets by ensuring all home loan securities and insurance coverages are accurately documented, maintained, and aligned with internal risk mitigation policies

Key Responsibilities

Ensure insurance coverage is in place for all home loan accounts.

Facilitate placement of cover for new business, including Homeowner’s Cover (HOC), Embedded Life, Retrenchment Insurance, and HLGC.

Update insurance schedules daily for HOC, Embedded Life, and Retrenchment.

Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations of insurance schedules and submit to FNBB.

Process monthly premium transfers from the Home Loans suspense account to the FNBB suspense account.

Monitor exception listings related to insurance coverage.

Maintain and update staff repayment records on a daily basis.

Prepare and submit monthly insurance schedules to South Africa for payroll deductions.

Keep accurate records of new individual insurance policies.

Process insurance refunds when applicable.

Manage annual renewals for Embedded Life, HOC, and Retrenchment policies.

Prepare interest certificates, paid-off letters, and repayment letters.

Respond promptly to administrative and insurance-related queries.

Competencies Required:

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesAdvanced credit writing and assessment skillsEffective communication skills (both written and verbal)Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteSolid numeracy and financial calculation skillsWorking knowledge of the ILP system

Qualifications and Experience
