Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader in field of AI & Advanced Analytics to lead our AI/ML initiatives and drive transformative projects across our grid technology organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and data analytics, with a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions that align with business objectives in the energy sector, particularly in transmission planning and operational studies.
Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:
· Lead the AI/ML practice, providing technical leadership and strategic direction for AI initiatives.
· Oversee the end-to-end deployment of AI/ML projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI/ML projects with key business functions in our digital grid business, with major stack holders as engineering, project operations, and senior management. Utilize programming languages and tools such as Python, R, SQL, MATLAB, and cloud platforms (AWS) to deliver data-driven solutions. In addition, support in execution of steady-state and dynamic contingency analyses using power flow models (PSSE, PowerFactory, PSCAD, VSAT, TSAT, or Powerworld). Designs and performs production cost modeling studies to accomplish economic transmission planning under the direction of a senior level engineer or management. Support development of improved models for transmission planning and market forecasting processes. Assists in providing input and analyses from the planning perspective on market/protocol design issues. Assists in providing market simulation/forecasting and transmission planning analyses to support other activities in grid technology business. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Lead and manage international teams, ensuring effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:
Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, OR equivalent industry experience with a strong demonstrable research background in AI/ML. Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics, with a focus on the energy sector, especially the transmission business. Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL) and data analytics tools (Pyspark, Databricks). Experience with deep learning frameworks (Keras, TensorFlow, Pytorch) and cloud computing (AWS). Prior experience in transmission planning and operational studies (100 kV ~ 765 kV), power system performance analyses including steady state analysis, dynamic stability, voltage stability, protection coordination and control system. Prior experience in power system simulation programs (e.g. PSS/E, TARA, PSLF, DigSilent PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD/EMTDC, MATLAB/Simulink) An analytical and strategic mindset, always eager to explore and implement innovative solutions and applying problem-solving skills within a consulting environment. Experienced in product development and process improvement. Past track record of driving significant business outcomes through data-driven solutions. Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
