Team Leader -Accounts Receivable

 

 

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead to oversee daily collection operations for lease rent and Fees, Expenses, Rent, and other charges within our commercial real estate portfolio. This role reports to the Assistant Manager and manages Team Leaders while working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure optimal collection & AR performance and SLA compliance

 

 

What this job involves:

 

Team Management & Leadership, ability to lead and mentor a team of 10-12 collection specialists and SMEs

Should have good understanding on updating live dashboards tracking DSO, collection efficiency, and aging buckets

Oversee dispute resolution and complex collection scenarios

Understand and should have hands on experience tiered approval workflows based on customer risk profiles

Monitor and drive the team to capture accurate MIS and report to management as required

Undertake monthly performance reviews and continuously strive to upskill the team from an industry, domain, and 'soft skills' perspective

Lead team to achieve monthly collection targets and oversee utilization of team, working across collection platforms

Ensure team proficiency in communication tools (Outlook) and reporting systems

Document daily operational challenges and system limitations, submit monthly enhancement requests to CI & Digital teams with business case justification, and coordinate implementation of approved system improvements

Maintain and update collection SOPs monthly based on process changes, ensure team adherence through weekly checklist reviews, and establish clear escalation criteria with defined handoff timelines between collection stages

Should have experience of conducting root cause analysis for collection issues occurring >3 times monthly, implement corrective actions within 5 business days, and track resolution effectiveness through reduced recurrence rates

Prepare and maintain audit-ready documentation for all collection activities, coordinate with auditors during quarterly reviews, respond to audit queries within 24 hours, and ensure zero collection-related audit findings

Conduct quality audits of collection activities and documentation

Conduct daily huddles and weekly team meetings to review performance metrics

Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members

Manage workload distribution and resource allocation across the team

Handle escalations from team members and complex tenant issues

Track and report team performance metrics using established dashboards

Drive monthly one-on-one performance coaching sessions with each team member, identify specific skill gaps, and implement targeted development plans

Maintain 100% compliance with collection procedures through daily activity monitoring, weekly policy adherence audits, and immediate corrective action implementation for any regulatory or lease term violations

To apply you need to be:

 

Accounting Background (B. Com/M. Com/MBA Finance)

Prior experience of  6-8 years with minimum Team Handling experience of 3 Years

Ability to handle 10-12 team members

Strong accounting knowledge, people management, communications, and interpersonal skills, and a keen learner

Excellent working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel skills, e.g. Pivots, complex formulas, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships (internal and external) remotely

Must be able to work under pressure and prioritize work assigned and work to adhere to tight deadlines

An approachable personality and adept at managing and developing capability of team and act with integrity

Knowledge of Real Estate Accounting and PMS (Property Management System) will be an added advantage
