Team Lead – Residential Assembly (1st Shift)

FHP Manufacturing is a leader in the production of geothermal and water source heat pumps, providing some of the most efficient heating and cooling comfort solutions in the industry. **Job Description** **Position Summary:** The Residential Assembly Team Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily operations of the residential HVAC unit assembly process. This includes leading a team of assemblers, maintaining safety and quality standards, ensuring production goals are met, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. The Team Lead plays a key role in building a high-performing team and promoting a safe, efficient, and organized work environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the residential assembly line to ensure timely and accurate production. + Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and provide hands-on support to ensure units are assembled according to specifications. + Ensure all team members follow standard work procedures, safety protocols, and quality guidelines. + Conduct in-process quality checks and support corrective actions as needed. + Support onboarding, training, and cross-training of team members to build skill versatility and improve team performance. + Collaborate with materials, quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to quickly resolve production issues. + Communicate shift updates, challenges, and production status to supervisors and cross-shift leadership. + Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles and BPS (Bosch Production System) standards. + Promote and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive work environment. + Lead daily start-up meetings and drive engagement, accountability, and communication. **Additional Responsibilities:** + Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste. + Ensure all activities follow OSHA regulations and safety standards. + Support adherence to takt time and production pacing to meet daily goals. + Act as the primary point of contact for team-related concerns, escalations, and coordination with leadership. + Support training and mentorship of new Team Leads when assigned. + Ensure accurate completion of production documentation and reporting. **Qualifications** **Qualifications:** + High School Diploma or equivalent required. + 2+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing or HVAC environment. + Previous team lead or leadership experience strongly preferred. + Strong understanding of assembly tools, processes, and work instructions. + Ability to read and interpret product drawings, standard work, and job travelers. + Proven ability to lead a team of 10–15 employees in a fast-paced environment. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Comfortable working cross-functionally with quality, engineering, and support teams. + Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of problem-solving in real-time. + Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. + Must be flexible and able to work overtime or other shifts as needed. **Additional Information** All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. **Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability / veterans.**
