Duties:
In the appointment of Teaching Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

Assist with marking exams, assignments, helping with securing guest speakers, and hosting online office hours to review exam grades. Hosting class-based online group activities.  Support overall course delivery and student engagement. You will report directly to your supervisor Dr. Holly McKenzie 

Qualifications: (Skills and Abilities)
-PhD-level or Master’s level graduate student

-Strong background knowledge of social justice and health equity and the theories that underpin the draft 2024 Core Competencies for Public Health in Canada (Version 5-March 7, 2024) Category 9: Health Equity and Social Justice (i.e. intersectionality, anticolonialism, antiracism, Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer theorizing, queer theory, and Indigenous and decolonizing theories).

-Research experience on social justice and health equity related projects, and/or community-based experience in social justice and health equity related fields.

-Prior experience as a TA

Applicants without a strong background in social justice and health equity public health practice or research will not be considered.
