Hours: 37.5 hours/week

Position Overview
Amergis Staffing is seeking two Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students ranging from preschool through high school. This role provides instruction, support, and services to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in alignment with their academic and communication needs.
You will collaborate with educators, families, and support staff while traveling between multiple district schools to deliver services. This position is needed immediately following Winter Break and will continue through June 16, 2026, with optional summer school opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide specialized instruction to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in various school settings.
+ Teach academic subjects using the regular or adapted curriculum based on student needs.
+ Utilize and support the use of amplification devices, assistive technology, and communication supports.
+ Communicate effectively using ASL or other appropriate modes of communication.
+ Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, service providers, and families.
+ Assist in IEP development and implementation.
+ Travel between multiple school sites as part of an itinerant caseload.
+ Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district, state, and professional standards.
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
+ Knowledge of Sign Language and amplification devices for DHH students.
+ Experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students preferred.
+ ASL proficiency exam or certification may be required depending on state, district, or contract guidelines.
+ Must comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable).
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation).
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
+ Must be at least 18 years old.
Caseload & Assignment Details
+ Approximately 53 students, shared between two TODHH professionals.
+ Students span preschool through high school.
+ Must be available for in-person assignments only.
+ Exact school placements will vary; candidates needing travel specifics can request location clarification from the district.
