The Cleveland Clinic Children's Center for Autism offers a comprehensive range of services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including diagnostic evaluations, treatment and educational programs. The Center emphasizes applied behavior analysis (ABA) and a multidisciplinary approach, including collaboration with specialists like psychologists, BCBAs, teachers and therapists. As a Teacher Coordinator, you will collaborate with the Autism Center Coordinator of Educational Services to design specific curricula to work toward each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and to design and monitor individual and group programs. You will also provide support and direction for Classroom Behavior Therapist caregivers. The Lerner School for Autism has two locations located less than two miles apart. As a Teacher Coordinator, you are responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to students and their families within a supportive environment that values team members. You will facilitate student development to help them achieve their fullest potential and will have access to structured opportunities for professional growth, career advancement, and a comprehensive benefits package. This position will be assigned one location as their primary location; however, depending upon staffing needs, you may float to the other location.
In this position, you will benefit from extensive, ongoing training and supervision at the Lerner School. Autism Therapists progress through four levels, each offering increased responsibility and compensation. Caregivers completing BCBA coursework are eligible for free supervision, and additional support is provided through Resident Educator mentorship.
**A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.** **_Caregivers may float to other locations depending upon staffing needs._**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Assist in the design, implementation, and oversight of Individual Education Plans.
+ Oversee the daily flow of student programs and classroom data collection.
+ Organize and schedule group activities and community-based outings.
+ Acquire baseline data and implement programs using behavioral models.
+ Monitor and make appropriate adjustments.
+ Prepare and maintain the necessary educational materials and environment.
+ Provide training and feedback for evaluations.
+ Present on assigned topics at workshops and in-services.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, Social work, Education, or other closely related field
+ State of Ohio certification as a teacher
+ One year of experience working with children with autism
+ Knowledge of applied behavior analysis
+ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with children, families, educators and other professionals
+ Enthusiasm and demonstrated patience with students
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting students, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, physically able to manage students of varying weight and sizes.
+ Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing.
+ May be exposed to communicable diseases.
