BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Provide intervention instructional support for individual emergent bilingual students or groups of students under the direction of a certified classroom teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Fluent Spanish speaking and literacy skills Fluent English speaking and literacy skills Knowledge of District, campus, and classroom policies and procedures Skilled at working with emergent bilingual students who need intervention to perform on grade level Knowledge of techniques used in assisting students with special needs Skilled in utilizing general instructional strategies Skilled in applying classroom/student discipline management Skilled in operating standard computer and software applications Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities
Experience:
Some experience with children

Instructional Support:
Conduct Tier 3 instructional support for emergent bilingual students. Support and participate in meeting the objectives of the district bilingual programs and its literacy goals. Support emergent bilingual students in classroom activities if applicable.
Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
Assist teachers with reviewing data to inform instruction and reconfigure intervention services as needed.
Organization Improvement:
Work collaboratively to improve students’ foundational biliteracy literacy skills as appropriate.
Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in professional development related to Spanish language programs used in Tier 3. Participate in professional development for interpreting data and forming student groups.
School/Community Relations:
Interact positively with employees and the community to provide needed information and to promote the District in a favorable manner.
Organization Morale:
Participate in team-building activities and the decision-making process as appropriate. Communicate and collaborate with campus/department staff to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Other Responsibilities:
Comply with policies established by federal law, including but not limited to State Board of Education and local Board policy. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
