TEACHER (HIGH SCHOOL-GENERAL EDUCATION) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) TEACHER (ELEMENTARY-MULTIPLE SUBJECTS) (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) *Multiple positions Job Description and Duties Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment will be considered for this position(s). Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction and indirect supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs (SCEP), Incumbent help persons committed to State correctional facilities prepare to become productive and contributing members of society by training them in academic subjects and by helping them to develop socially acceptable attitudes and interests. The teacher gives individual and group instruction, conduct assessments and testing, and participate as members of an interdisciplinary treatment team. The teacher has responsibility for supervising the conduct of the students while in the classroom and may be called upon to assume general custody responsibilities in time of emergency.
Requirements / QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Teacher All applicants must possess a valid California Teaching Credential issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Applicants who do not possess the required credential or one of equivalent authorization may take the examinations but must have on file with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing an application for an appropriate credential. At the time of application for the examination, applicants must present written verification that the appropriate listed credential or its' equivalent is being processed or will be authorized.
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you should include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
